Hello Listers,
Since all those who voted in the just ended election were identified
positively by the KIEMS kit, it should be possible to make a next step
beyond publishing the register of voters to producing a list of people who
voted or did not vote per polling station. This not only helps with the
verifiability of the election results. It also helps to clean up the
register of voters by zeroing on ID numbers that did not vote as more
likely people who have passed on. Wananchi can help flag such entries if
the list is presented in the same way as the voter register prior to
elections.
Thinking this is doable out of goodwill and transparency by IEBC, or can be
incorporated as a requirement in improved election laws.
