[kictanet] Internship Opportunity with A4AI: Research on Mobile Internet Users

The Alliance for Affordable Internet  <http://www.a4ai.org/>is offering a paid 4-6 month internship to conduct research on mobile Internet users in low and middle income countries. The intern will conduct statistical and other analyses using a survey data set of 8000 users across 8 countries. The expectation is for the intern, with appropriate mentorship and guidance from A4AI, to lead the production of a short policy brief and an academic paper (to be submitted to a relevant journal by the end of the internship). Topics of interest to A4AI and relevant to this data set include public Internet access, and gender and ICTs. 

We are ideally looking for a graduate student with good econometric skills and who is comfortable using relevant statistical software. She or he will have an interest in and/or experience working on public policy issues in low and middle income countries. PhD students are welcome to apply. The internship can be full-time or part-time and can start as soon as possible, or if necessary at the start of the Spring 2017 academic semester.
