Hi,

I agree. Long term phone registration is important not only for tracking stolen phones but also managing security (e.g. cyber crime, terrorism, etc) since the perpetrators of crime use phones to communicate and this will facilitate tracking as each manufactured device is unique.

Blessed Sunday!

You may have woken up to the WApp circulation NOT to get your latest phone by trading off from some of our popularly advertised trading online sites. Otherwise, be ready to fork out 40k when labeled to be holding a stolen phone...which is taken off you on payment of the fine and cited to then go back into circulation for the next victim.

Whether true or not, whether good or bad PR their marketing agency would be handling.

This raises curiosity on longterm registry system even for the cheaper phone.

However, just like cars log-book system which shows the true owner and facilitates official exchange, might this be in existence and practicable for phones?

Enjoy the article read too!

Blessed Sunday and week ahead!

Regards/Wangari
