Interesting development. Details are scant at the moment but if this is
true goes to show that you really can't keep a good idea down.

I particularly like the quote from BitPesa below:-

“CBK has currently chosen not to regulate bitcoin. Unregulated business is
not illegal business and BitPesa will continue to operate and maintain our
headquarters in Kenya. BitPesa is licensed, however, by the UK’s Financial
Conduct Authority as an Authorised Payment Institution,” said the firm in a
notice.
