Dear Kictanet Readers,

I would like to inform you that ICANN has initiated an in-depth study
of the DNS ecosystem in Africa. The Team is attempting to cover all
54 countries and 58 TLDs in Africa (there are 4 gTLD's).

The Team thinks that this will be of interest to the whole Internet
community.

Read the full article published on the AFRINIC blog at:

http://www.afrinic.net/blog/115-baseline-market-study-on-domain-names-in-africa

William Stucke is leading this team (which includes myself, Mark
Elkins) and would greatly appreciate your support by signing up at
https://dnsafrica.study/ and selecting and completing the
questionnaires relevant to yourself. Each one takes only 10 minutes
or so. All confidential information will be respected, and only
aggregated figures published. A copy of the final report will be
publicly available and will be provided to every participant.

                           -oOo-

Why this is important: By observing who is doing what, it should be
possible to provide information to others what works well. This
should benefit everybody. This should help increase the number of
Domains as well as help drive up Content, Peering and General Internet
growth (i.e. Consumers) in every African countries local market.

Also - I've personally no real idea how many Domains are in use by
Africans, both Local and domains like ".COM"!

Thanking you in anticipation for your support.

Kind regards,

--
