Hello listers,

The Internet Freedom Festival (IFF) will take place March 1-6, 2015 in Valencia, Spain. It is a time for the freedom community to strengthen bonds of trust, share knowledge, and recharge batteries.

IFF takes a community, ground up approach. As a result, we are looking for interesting individuals submit a session that they feel would benefit the Internet Freedom community. Currently, there are 8 tracks you can be part of. Deadline is December 15. https://internetfreedomfestival.org/host-a-session/ <https://internetfreedomfestival.org/host-a-session/>

In this edition specifically we really want to increase the diversity of participants present at the festival. Previous festivals have seen low attendance from Sub-Sahara Africa, from child-safety online orgs, gender-focused organisations, LGBTQI community and other minorities who are affected by Internet surveillance but are not represented as much as they would wish. Funding is limited and will depend on quality of session, how collaborative it is and how it can lead to a practical impact path after the festival. So, go ahead and submit <https://internetfreedomfestival.org/host-a-session/> your session.

IFF creates an unique, vibrant environment where activists from various parts of the world, software creators, humanitarian workers, policy makers and others can come together, and collaboratively tackle the biggest challenges facing the Internet Freedom community.

We are also looking for volunteers that can help with a variety of tasks. You can indicate your desire to become a volunteer in the RSVP form: https://internetfreedomfestival.org/register/ <https://internetfreedomfestival.org/register/>. If you organization would like to be a friend or partner, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Money contributions, while appreciated are not necessary.
