Dear Chapter Delegates,

On behalf of the Internet Society’sElections Committee, I wish to extend our appreciation and thanks to all of thenominees and candidates for the Board of Trustees Election 2015. We arehonoured that such well-qualified individuals offered to serve on the InternetSociety Board.

The election concluded on 6thApril and the results have been certified by the Elections Committee.

CHAPTERS

In the chapters election we had fourcandidates for the open Trustee seat. Walid Al-Saqaf received 34 votes out of the 88 votes castEach of the other candidates (and abstentions) received less than this numberof votes. A list of all Chapters eligible to vote in the election, indicatingwhich Chapters exercised their voting privilege, is available here.

ORGANISATIONS

In the Organisation membership electionthere were three candidates for one Trustee seat. Alice Munyua received 92 weighted votes out of 232 weightedvotes cast. Each of the other candidates (and abstentions) received less thanthis number of votes. In this election, the vote of each organisational memberhas a weight of between 1 and 6 based on the membership category.

It may be of further interest that in the2015 Election, 88 out of 105 Chapters (84%), and 74 out of 119 OrganisationMembers (62%) voted.

We now move into the challenge period.Challenges can be lodged between now and 21:00 UTC on 17th April 2015, by emailto the President of the Internet Society, Kathy Brown <brown at isoc.org> with a recital of the reasons for the challenge. The President,after consultation with the Chairs of the Nominations and Elections Committeesand the members of the Board of Trustees, shall advise the author of thechallenge of the Board's decision within 4 days following the end of thechallenge period.

The Challenge Response Period ends onTuesday, 21 April 2015, the date on which the results will be finalized andofficially announced.
