[kictanet] eCitizen Working Well

Muthoni,

We can arrange a visit for Tuesday to the EADC (KDN Datacenter). It's quite
something, and you will see.
Ngigi - karibu also - Tuesday morning ?

If more members are interested, we can arrange a second visit with Dan
Kwach - the GM there. I'm happy to help facilitate.

Angani, like any other Cloud provider, has to build in enough redundancy -
we now have nodes running in 2 separate datacenters,
along with using at least 2 ISPs etc. The next step is for whoever is
building the applications - to take advantage & incorporate DB
and application-level redundancy into the app.

For us, and for businesses as well - high availability is very possible in
Kenya - just comes with investing in redundant infrastructure
e.g. get 2 ISP links to your office - both don't have to be expensive
"corporate" links - add in a JTL or Zuku 10mbps link. Maybe use
a BRCK to handle failover to 3G ;)
