Dear friends,

Since funding for deserving students to attend courses has become very
difficult, we are trying new possibilities. Please read about it below, and
help us if you can. Donations and passing this information to others both
count as helping...

Diplo has launched its first crowdfunding attempt, through the Pozible
platform: http://www.pozible.com/project/180875. We are starting with a
very modest goal: to raise funds for several scholarships for our summer
courses; we hope this will develop into a substantial fund which we can use
in different ways to support the participation of people from small and
developing states in our courses. We have also established a page on our
website to support this fund: http://www.diplomacy.edu/aboutus/support/fund.

The idea of crowdfunding is to collect a large number of small (or
medium-sized) donations. To do this, we need to reach as wide as possible
an audience with the invitation to contribute and to share. Please share
the announcement or the link above; if you know anyone who might like to
contribute with a small or even not-so-small donation, please invite them
to do so.

Your help is much appreciated!

Best,
Stephanie* <http://www.diplointernetgovernance.org>**

Dear Alumni,

We are starting a crowdfunding campaign to establish a scholarship fund for
small and developing states. The idea with crowdfunding is to collect small
donations from multiple sources. We are starting with a modest goal, but
hope to eventually establish a substantial rolling fund to assist many
people over the long term.

You know the value of our work in helping to strengthen the voices of small
and developing states at international conferences and negotiations, and
enable them to better represent national needs and interests. We want to
build this fund because we know the impact of scholarships for many people
who couldn’t otherwise participate in Diplo’s programmes. Yet the financial
resources available to provide this support are reducing, as donor
priorities change.

*How can you help? *

   - Have you benefited from our courses and would you like to help others
do the same? Please consider making a donation. Donations do not have to
be large - 10 euros will make a difference.
   - Do you know other people who share our vision and have the financial
means to help, with a larger donation? Please let them know about our
campaign and about how studying with Diplo made a difference for you.
   - Help us share the news about our campaign widely. You can share it on
Facebook or Twitter, and through any networks you are part of.
