It seems I sent the kudos too soon, I believe the problem here is the same one that ails us as a nation - supervision, follow through and personal responsibility.
On Saturday I almost ran into a matatu on Sore Road in South B after it stopped abruptly, I initially dismissed it as their usual misbehaviour but after over taking it I realised why he had braked, it was because a ravine has been developing across the road courtesy of the better option.
After my last scathing post on this issue it was my expectation and belief that Safaricom would send a team out to verify that all works where completed to the required standards.
Maybe if Doctor Kidero's team was less ghostly they would have done the follow-up and bill Safaricom accordingly, but with all the party election issues ghostly clouding his vision I am being forced to make a civilian arrest of the culprits.
Regards.
PS. If Safaricom could provide me with a mobile device (e.g. Galaxy Note tab or Nokia Lumia 1020 with 41 MP camera) with a high resolution camera, GPS, a Tesla Model S and unlimited data bundles I will carry out the verification process for free.

Robert,
I think we all agree that the government needs to get on top of this stuff and that groups doing the digging should pay appropriately for the permits and oversight. I still think that the federal government doesn't really have the focus on local roads needed to affect change the way that the local governments do ... and now with a devolved constitution, local governments actually have the power to affect change here.
While it would be great for anybody to do anything, it would be ideal to start getting the county governments involved in this stuff - keeping in mind the primacy clause which should still allow the federal government to compel county governments to give right of way for communications lines in the case of reluctant local bureaucrats.
