  I don't get the gist of these posts.

Whether it should have been done before or not are we saying that nothing
should be done now?

What we should be vigilant about is that terror suppression efforts do not
go overboard as in the US and undermine civic rights like privacy.

If the terrorist is in a position to buy a phone it is already too late!

Why can't we embark on meaningful changes like automating the police?
Connecting the police to immigration and registration of births? This is
