Word on the street is that the following cabinet secretary posts have been filled

Finance  -  Dr. Martin Otieno Oduor (Former PS & KCB MD)
Energy  - Adan Mohammed (current Group MD BBK)
Transport - Dr. Titus Naikuni (current MD KQ)
Information - Eng. Johnson ole Nchoe  (Chief Manager, CIO - KPLC)
Environment & Natural Resources - Dr. Julius Kipngetich
Sports and Youth - Paul Tergat 

Industrialization - Eng. Mugo Kibati 
Higher Education - Prof. Olive Mugenda -Vice Chancellor Kenyatta University

The new constitution provides for two things:

-the Cabinet Secretary (currently known as Minister) and 
-Principal Secretary (currently known as Permanent Secretary).

The world over the Ministers/Cabinet Secretary are the prerogative of the President.  So expect us/KICTAnet to play NO  role there - except through your Member of Parliament who has to approve the Presidential nominee. So whichever party has the majority will have their nominated Cabinet Secretary duly endorsed.

As for the Principal Secretary, there's a small chance for input since the Constitution expects the  Public Service Commission (PSC) to advertise the jobs and send three names for the President to select from and subsequently parliament to approve.  Whether the PSC will do the interviews in public is left open and is not
 mandatory.  

Either way, I would imagine the current PS may wish to apply for his job (Principal Secretary) or  upgrade to Cabinet Secretary or simply opt to join us  back in teaching & research at the University :-)
