Dear colleagues.
The Kenya ICT Action Network (KICTANET) in collaboration with @iLabAfrica
are organising a stakeholder forum on the 4th of July to discuss the laptop
for Schools initiative that is due to be rolled out by the Government.
This forum invites all stakeholders in the education and ICT sector to
present position papers regarding this initiative. I welcome you to
participate by presenting your views on the following aspects of the Laptop
for Schools Initiative:
1.
What is the device?
2.
What is the nature of the content? (Format, mode of delivery etc)
3.
Who will generate the content and carry out QA?
4.
Monitoring and Evaluation System
5.
Security of the Devices
6. Disposal of Devices
The forum will take place on 4th July from 9am to 5pm in the Strathmore
University Auditorium. Position papers are welcome. To secure a slot to
present your recommendations, kindly submit your paper by 2nd July to the
email address forum at strathmore.edu
Input from all stakeholders will be consolidated and presented to
government at a separate event on the 19th of July.
