To: "africann at afrinic.net" <africann at afrinic.net>

Dear Listers,

Dear Listers!

Seasons greetings for a most prosperous 2013 to all!

The Africa strategy which was presented in Toronto (ICANN 45) has now
entered its implementation phase with the adoption of an action plan
covering the rest of ICANN's fiscal year (FY13) ending on June 2013.

The action plan derived from the Africa strategy, will help implement a
series of seven (7) priority projects , including ICANN's further
engagement with I*, particularly the African Internet related Organizations
and businesses, an all Africa workshop on the DNS industry, a DNSSEC
roadshow, the ICANN academy, the ambassador programme , the incubator
programme for DNS industry and business development. The latter will be
launched in July 2013 (FY14), together with another series of projects.

Implementation of the work plan will require strategic partnerships with
other institutions active in the field , and will rely on African and
foreign expertise.

Best regards

Pierre Dandjinou
VP, Africa
