[kictanet] Great educational line-up at AITEC East Africa 2012

Dear Colleagues,

We have a great line-up of knowledge-sharing content at this year's AITEC East Africa Summit at Oshwal centre Wednesday-Thursday next week.

Highlights include:


Ø  An Open Source Forum in partnership with the ict at innovation programme run by FOSSFA and GIZ

Ø  The Skills Gap Forum in partnership with LIWA Trust and Digital Age Institute, which aims to develop an industry-academia action plan to address the ICT skills gap

Ø  The opening session will focus on the Smart Cities theme of the Summit, with presentations by Dr Ndemo, IBM's smarter cities champion and representatives from Tatu City and Ghana Cyber City

Ø  In addition, there are two Smart City Forums

Ø  RIM is going to unveil its new BlackBerry 10 roadmap

Ø  Cisco is doing a workshop on "Collaboration for smarter workplaces and smarter cities"

Ø  The Summit will once again have strong information security content, with training workshops by Silensec and presentation forums, including one in partnership with ISACA

Ø  Ushahidi is organising a Smart Communities Forum to bring together a range of organisations to share recent experience in mobile and other applications for community development projects
