I hope that now we have Thika road as a benchmark on what ought have been
done but never came to be, the many ICT solutions/ideas from within/out
this forum be integrated into the new roads.
Best Regards,
Edwin

I think the government is working hard to see many things and projects come
to fruition, lets support them. We have supported Dr. Ndemo through positive
engagement and we need to support other sectors. Together, we shall build
the great Kenya we all want.
Thanks Mbugua, this if definitely good commitment.

More updates
I was at Treasury today with Githae and Bett.
1.
Finally, the Mombasa Southern bypass will be built connecting Mombasa
Island to South Coast (Miritini through to Dongo Kundu) and connecting
to the Mombasa-Tanzania highway. It will cost Sh30billion and will
feature 4 bridges and also a link road to the new container terminal
near Moi International Airport.
The head of JICA will be in the country on June 2nd to oversee the
signing of the Japanese loan to finance the project.
2.
JICA will at the same time sign to give a grant for the expansion of
Ngong Road to six lanes from All Saints Cathedral to Nakumatt Junction
at Dagoretti Corner. Money is still being sought for the Dagoretti
Corner - Karen - Bomas section.
3.
Top Treasury and Roads teams including Kenha top officers are in
Washington DC to urgently push for negotiations for the JKIA junction
through Southern Bypass-Westlands-Rironi Sh34bn project.
Apparently, it is so urgent because if Thika Road is completed, the
outpouring of traffic onto Uhuru Highway will turn it into a parking
lot.
Cheers
