[kictanet] Alternative view on ITRs

Quite informative. I'm more convinced than ever that we must form an alternative view. One that is independent of the influences that are clearly set out in the article you sent.

For once in a long time we have been presented with a platform that is one of the greatest equalizers of all time. That has happened because largely most governments have found it fit to live well alone! 

Now that platform is under attack. From fascist tendencies, to claims of protecting National Security Governments worldwide are attacking  the freedom of the Internet. There are pros and cons. As protectors of its people Governments have the moral authority to do just that. This however must be balanced or else we will find ourselves in a situation where we shut down the super highway because there have been deadly accidents!  The reason for those accidents isn't usually how the highway was built but how it's being used.

So let's make usage intelligent by having zebra crossings to protect school children, freeways where your speed limit goes up to 120km/hour and slow lanes for those unable to move as fast. Denying or trying to deny service a la wiki leaks in the long run is generally counterproductive.
