[kictanet] KNEC website goes tits up again

Hi,

I unfortunately do not see a crisis, the only way to offer a cost effective solution is to use a platform that can provide elasticity, yes its called a cloud.

The proposal to have KNEC install sufficient capacity to deal with a 2 day overload a year is a waste of resources that could be better utilised elsewhere.

This issue is reminiscent of our complaints about traffic jams in the city of Nairobi which are time specific, flyovers and overpasses should not be looked at as the immediate solution what we need is to spread the traffic by for example implementing flex time.

No one will remember the exam result SMS fiasco come Friday this week so lets leave KNEC to spend their scarce resources where it will have the maximum impact.

Regards

Does it mean technology cannot be employed to avert such a crisis?
