[kictanet] Three candidates shortlisted in race for top CCK post

Hi Washington,

CCK is a regulator so how exactly does a techie add value to such a process?  It is the technical people who are employed to churn through standards and technologies the CG is supposed to be an interface.

A techie will not last, we are intolerant and like people to respond like code which means we are not people people  which is clearly seen from how issues are handled on this list.

Like Muchiri I feel Kiptinness is the more ideal candidate and I like the fact that he listens.

Regards

Hahaa, Robert. I do think the lawyers are best used as legal officers within the organization. However, CCK is better headed by a technical fellow. Technical people will get the lawyers to address the legalese. Having a lawyer to head, say, Safaricom, wouldn't wash, for sure. Having a lawyer to head an organization that will oversee the likes of Safaricom, etc will only serve to make technical issues take a political direction. Lawyers argue too much:-)

About challenging that decision in court, that is a nice one! Kenyans have now started getting accustomed to a constitution that allows them to challenge any decision. Since the Presidency changed from being "above the law", to being under it, the sky is the limit.
