interesting analysis... i have inteacted with both Wangusi and Omo and am sure either of them can do the job. Not had a chance with Kiptiness but cant rule him out. Right now whoever gets the job will be based on which politician you know and more so on how politcally aligned they are to our Hon. Minister Pogisho.

Going forward, i think the DG job is very serious and am dissapointed that it never made it to the level where the applicants are vetted by Parliament and the holder made to understand that they owe allegiance to the people of kenya - rather than the minister in charge..(no offense meant to cuurent holder :-). But maybe since our future ministers will be more technocrat than political, nominated and vetted by parliament, perhaps this issue maybe addressed accordingly.
