[kictanet] Airtel International Calls

The attached brief - recommendation 6 clearly points to the need to publish comparative pricing to assist consumers compare and select operators. Blanket advertising (without revealing the 'fine print") certainly confuses the consumer!

I trust that CCK will do something about this recommendation - it also needs to be in Kiswahili and via different ICT channels not just the web.

I rest my case!

Edith

Thanks.

Clear branding and advertising is certainly necessary in the public domain! Not every Kenyan has access to complicated websites!

This tariff doesn't apply to all international calls, Edith - KES3 is only for a number of countries, including the US. The other tariffs are KES20 and KES30 per minute.

Listers,

Can anyone confirm that airtel charges ksh 3 (is it per minute or seconds?) for international calls? Despite the hype, this is not the reality from my recent painful experience.

What role does CCK play in ensuring consumers get what they are promised?

Edith
