I believe for all intents and purposes and the presence of armed soldiers outside various military establishments Kenya is at war and therefore what is currently applying in the country is a different set of laws, after the 9/11 twin tower bombing as soon as President Bush declared that America was at war all personal freedoms were suspended.

For this reason if no other the media houses need to renew their licenses come Wednesday as the rules in force are different from those that they have been playing under and shut-down they will.

The only heroism that is expected of us for the foreseeable future is on the frontline

It also explains why civil society, apart from the fact that they are now all in government, have not shown their faces at Eastleigh, Kyang'ombe and more recently Syokimau.  In addition, the University staff are on strike and Secretary General Atuoli is quiet, does he know something we do not?
