[kictanet] We certainly need divine intervention

I stopped becoming 100% patriotic when I realized that our leaders are
indeed unpatriotic. None of the people we so feel are our role models,
really fit in the level of being admired.
One leading politician is believed to own land chuinks that is almost
the size of a province, yet there are Kenyans who are still living as
squatters, in an independent nation.
Right now, I can't purchase a gas cylinder because 'there is an
artificial shortage', which, in my view, is propelled by some
politicians who are still holding important positions in the
government. I really wonder what happened to Public Officers Ethics
Act or Chapter 6 of the Constitution. Imagine having to go for
charcoal late in to the night because some people have decided to
raise money through corrupt means? I also pay exorbitantly as a
passenger, yet my income level remains the same. I wonder why can't we
have a constitutionalized basic salary for citizens instead of the
'free style' that we have so far adopted.
Rain has been pouncing heavily of late - that to a Public Service
Vehicle crew is an easy way of making a quick buck - and KPLC has
either decided to punish consumers by having numerous blackouts or not
willing to lower the tarrifs immediately.
This is the sad Kenya which Prophets Amos and Jeremiah, in the good
book, were talking against, when they addressed social responsibility
and justice towards the common person.

Sometimes, I cry for being a Kenyan, regret for being a patriot, yet
get reprimanded for my faithfulness.
I only shudder, in surprise, when I see prayer meetings being held
almost every year but leaders fail to see the suffering of a
mwananchi. Why do they put a veil of ignorance at the expense of
masses ignorance?
I sigh...
