Gartner, Inc. has highlighted the key predictions that it believes
herald long-term changes in approach for IT organizations and the people
they serve for 2010 and beyond. Virtualisation, cloud-computing, social
networks and green computing are some of the highlights at

Amongst the predictions, IT investments in businesses will decline as
virtualization and cloud-computing enabled services (managed services)
are adopted. Third party outsourced service aggregators will
increasingly own the IT assets. By 2014 most of the world's population
will be able to transact electronically using mobile/internet technology
and by 2013, mobile phones will overtake PCs as the most common Web
access device worldwide.
