Dear Edith (and Listers),

This is one of the areas we are covering in the East Africa ICT Summit. The
programme of confirmed presentations is attached. As you will see, John
Sergon from the President’s Office is making a presentation on the
information access requirements of the new Constitution.

Other speakers are welcome to contribute to the knowledge-sharing platform
provided by the conference by proposing a presentation or volunteering to
participate in a Panel Discussion.

Regards,

Sean

Thanks Njenga...we do hope that it will provide ordinary Kenyans with a
space to share their views on current reform issues for their voices to be
heard and relayed to the agenda 4 institutions for meanginful change. We
need to add the voices of ordinary Kenyans to the voices of the political
class. ICTs afford us the opportunity to do so in an efficient manner!

Edith

I think this is one of the most progressive thing we can have in the country
and which will propel the country forward. Loooking at what E-Log did and
other almost instantaneous relays of the referendum results, this definitely
is a step in the right direction. I look forward to seeing it grow.

Development of an IT platform to monitor the election process in Kenya ("an
eye on 2012)

For your information, IDRC is supporting an online platform (still under
development) to monitor implementation of agenda 4 - visit
www.agendayetu.org . We have worked with our very own Eng. Rege to launch
this. It is our desire that the views expressed will not end up in the
cyberworld, but will be synthesized and channelled to the respective agenda
4 institutions and parliament. Eng. Rege will be central in facilitating
these linkages.

Kenyans must be engaged in shaping our common future.

Your suggestions to stimulate and improve the site are welcome! As I said,
it's workin progress.

Regards

Edith
