Victor,
In response to your first point on IPV6, I would not be so worried about
another "y2k" like scenario resulting from the switch to IPv6 because its my
understanding that the technology behind IPv6 has been tested under what was
IPv5. In addition, please note that some of the vendors have their software
supporting both IPv4 and IPv6 simultenously to ensure seamless transition.
Regarding, who should be worried, you are very right in that the end user
should not be worried about implementation but its for the vendors
themselves who should ensure that their products support IPv6.
However, some end users might experience problems adopting IPv6 due to
problems including but not limited to: Absence or lack of manufacturer
support or impossible software update.
