Google is looking for a seasoned professional to lead Google's sales and
operations within South Africa. The ideal candidate will have deep sales
experience, demonstrated general management capability, and a proven ability
to build a team. The country business manager is responsible for developing
and executing on the overall market strategy within the country. This
responsibility includes determining the appropriate channel strategy,
support model, staffing requirements, target advertisers, and coordinating
with functional teams to achieve desired goals. The primary focus will be on
top tier client and agency opportunities, as well as regional business
development. This position will report to the Regional Director.
Responsibilities:
- General management of South Africa operations including the
development and execution of the overall country strategy.
- Build a sales organization to call upon leading advertisers within
South Africa.
- Build a regionalized advertising sales operations capability to
provide premium service to Google's top advertisers.
- Build and maintain relations with key agencies and Search Engine
Marketers (SEMs).
- Drive revenue growth across all verticals.
- Define the appropriate sales channel for all advertisers.
- Build and develop partnerships that will grow the marketplace in
South Africa and the Southern Africa region as a whole.
- Coordinate closely with centralized sales operations to ensure the
needs of the market are being met.
- Contribute strategically to the growth and direction of Google
products and services.
- Ensure new product launches are successfully communicated to the
local market.
- Collaborate with other Country Business Managers to provide broad
support to EMEA sales as a whole.
- Provide support to the Regional Director as required.
Requirements:
- BA/BS or equivalent; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years advertising sales and general management
experience.
- Proven record of strategic development of Fortune 1000 client base.
- 5+ years of Internet sales.
- 5+ years sales management experience in a technology related field.
- Strong relationships within the advertising and technology spaces in
the region.
- Experience in building strategic partnerships and track record of
growing a market is preferred
- Fluency in English required
