FYI,

Communiqué from RIPE about massive DDos attack again root servers that
happened on 6th Feb 2007:

It is worth noting that Kenya is host to two Root Servers namely F-Root
and J-Root in addition to serving .COM,.NET and .KE Root zones locally.
In essence adding resilience to the local Internet infrastructure and
making it independent of the external disruptions.
