Excellent points Kagwe and Ebele.

Kagwe, I remember the last time Safaricom tried to give Internet
services to the community, they did not contribute to the USF kitty
with the argument that they have already used their allocation to
serve the people. We should be careful to know exactly what these
companies want in return. On the other hand, I don't see schools
paying for Internet services either way. We struggle with basic bills
like water and electricity. And internet know should be regarded as a
basic commodity too.

Ebele, the government has taken initiative to train teachers on best
practices on use of ICT tools. If there is anyone with the curriculum,
it wold be great to share with the community. And the issue of child
online safety should be tackled better by the implementing consortium.
The safety mechanisms should start with the devices themselves. That
should be part of the strategy of Moi University and JKUAT who won the
initial phase.

Regards
