[kictanet] [Skunkworks] [EANOG] The East Africa Internet Exchange Point-- Where are we?

I understand that the East African Communications Organisation in
partnership with regional IXPs is setting up a task force to establish the
East Africaninternet Exchange Point (EAIXP). The National IXPs (KIXP, UIXP
etc) in East africa are already a success, so the introduction the the
EAIXP just stamps that governments are taking the internet seriously and
hence egovernance is the way to go.

I also understand from some insider sources that the East African
Communications Organisation (EACO) is to spearhead this process.

I expected these to be the issues discussed at the just concluded EAIGF.
Did it ever make it into the agenda?
